Rising Tide's mission is to bring the love of Jesus to the Portside Community in East Jacksonville. Every Saturday morning during the school year, volunteers host a "Sidewalk Sunday School" from 9:30am - 12:30pm at the Portside Clubhouse Complex welcoming kids ages 5-17. Volunteers lead games of basketball, soccer, and kickball; crafts designed to follow the week's bible lesson delight younger children; Christian music blares over the speakers creating a positive, welcoming environment; and Beach Church Children's Ministry curriculum is followed as a worship lesson. After the lesson, lunch is served to the approximately 50-60 kids who come each week.

Portside is located at 14001 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville 32250. Just follow the main road after you turn in and the Clubhouse will be on your left. There is parking in front and around the back of the Clubhouse Complex.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED:

• Need people to donate the following:

  • Portable speaker to use for music each week

  • New or used basketballs, soccer balls, and footballs

  • Sports equipment/games for younger kids (soccer nets, etc.)

  • Colored markers for crafts 

• Need volunteers to play sports and engage with the kids

• Need volunteers to help kids with their weekly craft

• Need volunteers to help prepare and serve lunch

• Need a volunteer coordinator for BEAM food donations

• Need volunteers for our music team
