THE WAY
Since Jesus walked the earth, following THE WAY of his teachings has been contested, debated, loved, and hated. THE WAY has been challenging to some, easier for others, but counter-cultural for all. Following the way of Jesus means that we put aside the things of this world. That we put to death our old way of life and embrace the love and hope that is found in the person of Jesus.
As we do this though, there are many examples from the Bible where we can turn that point to this hope and truth. From the Old Testament prophets pointing to the hope of a coming Messiah to the New Testament biographies of Jesus seen in the Gospels to the letters from Paul and others encouraging and holding followers accountable. Following THE WAY of Jesus is difficult, and it requires community and people being there helping point each other to get back on track.
This year’s Epworth will explore one of those letters and break down the truths Paul shares to churches around Ephesus. The book of Ephesians is all about what it means to understand God’s plan for humanity and our role in it.
